Exercise is a vehicle that can teach us many things about ourselves and our world. An effective exercise program should enhance a persons quality of life not only physically but also mentally and socially. These three aspects of life cannot be separated from one another, they exist in a synergistic relationship. We also believe that exercise is one part of a larger whole that comprises each individuals life. It cannot be viewed as a separate entity, something that is relegated to late nights or rushed lunch hours. It is clear from their design that our bodies are made to experience movement and this movement plays a fundamental role in our existence on this planet. With our rapidly evolving technology the use of our bodies is declining at an exponential rate. The mind cannot be separated from the body and through the learning of movement (in many cases re-learning) we are able to gain and in some cases master many of those aspects of life which allow us to reach our full potential as humans. We strive to reinforce the synergistic nature of exercise and movement into the lives of our clients. Encouraging them to revisit their understanding of what exercise is and the role it plays in their lives. Adopting a 'movement for life' attitude as part of their own lifestyle is our number one goal. Function The body is an integrated unit made up of hundreds of muscles, bones, organs and connective tissues. Each of these elements, down to each individual cell is interconnected and play a vital role in every function the body performs. We believe the body should be trained in such a way so as optimize it's function and performance, maximizing it's full potential for integrated strength, balance and coordination. The body is clearly designed in a manner which allows it to perform dynamic, unsupported, multi-directional movements and so we believe the body should be trained in a similar manner. Research shows us that by 'Functionally' training the body, the adaptations the body will make are more conducive to proper alignment, proper posture and proper balance. We approach each training session and class form this paradigm designing 'Functional' training programs that are neurally complex, physically challenging and mentally stimulating. Focusing on proper movement patterns during training and a healthy understanding of body image we do not place an emphasis on form (or image) but rather on function. We encourage our clients to train with intensity and focus, being fully engaged in each repetition and set. Body composition change is a sure result. Our Values1. Inspiration
